Medieval Pair of Fire Dogs.
This is a French pair of wrought iron andiron which was used to hold the logs in the fire of a grand fireplace in a Chateau Fort. Particularly massive pair of andiron in wrought iron. A similar pair is in Gallery 307 of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.
